Chi Rho Update

Fifty-nine participants (48 youth and 11 adults) from 12 congregations (Abiding Presence, Burke; Bethel, Manassas; Christ, Fairfax; Christ the Servant, Montgomery Village; Emmanuel, Bethesda; Epiphany, Dale City; King of Kings, Fairfax; Lord of Life, Fairfax; New Jerusalem, Lovettsville; St. Luke, Silver Spring; St. Mark, Springfield; Trinity, North Bethesda) traveled to HOMES in Neon, KY to participate in Chi Rho 2008, Metro DC’s annual week-long servant event for Senior High youth July 20 – 26, 2008.

We participated in numerous projects, including siding, demolition, clearing brush, burning debris, powerwashing, clean-up/touch-up, serving at a food distribution center, rehab, insulation, and sheetrock. We worked, played,
danced, hiked and worshipped together. Altogether, we provided over $33,000 in sweat equity and program fees for HOMES (Housing Oriented Ministries for Service). Check out photos
