2012 Confirmation Camp

Confirmation Camp has been nurturing the faith of youth throughout the Metro DC Synod for over
20 years.

Whether you have been part of Confirmation Camp in the past or not, you and your
congregation are welcome to Confirmation Camp 2012 from June 24 through June 29 where we will
live the theme “Exodus.”

The camp will be at Caroline Furnace Lutheran Camp and Retreat Center and the cost is $350.00. Registration information is available online.

Confirmation Camp benefits youth by giving them time with other Lutheran youth their own age where they can have fun while learning and exploring their faith on one of the 145 ELCA outdoor ministries in the United States.

It benefits clergy and other leaders who attend by giving them time with their youth outside of church as well as fellowship time with other clergy and leaders.

It benefits congregations as their youth return from Confirmation Camp as changed people who have grown in their faith.

This week-long Biblical experience is not possible without the assistance of the team of gifted leaders who participate each year.

Pastors and/or lay confirmation leaders are strongly encouraged to accompany their youth to camp, though there may be circumstances where a pastor or confirmation leader are not able to attend with their youth. If this is the case, we want to partner youth with another congregation because we don’t want cost or lack of a pastor or lay leader to preclude their participation.
